Kellner Steckfiguren is a charming line of award-winning German wooden toys, featured in Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum, that have entertained children and families alike in Europe for over eighty years. Steckfiguren literally translates into “stick-figures". They are also known as “plug-in figures” because of the patented unique rubber “Jummis” – or connectors(that make a great “popping” sound when pulled apart) that “plug” these toys together or into one another.
Kellner Steckfiguren toy is hand-made in Germany from locally grown Beech wood that has each been colored with water-based paints. The patented “jummis” are made with food-grade rubber. The remaining embellishments are all made from natural materials including hemp, sisal and bits of felt. And each Steck Figure set comes packaged in its own wonderfully simplistic cardboard box. Kellner Steckfiguren toys are of limited production and truly unique. They have won a number of awards from around the world, including the German Design Prize for Toys in 2001 and Japan’s Good Design Award in 2004.
Construct crazy stick figure designs to your heart’s content. And since there are deliberately no instructions included, you are limited only by your imagination.
